Ⅱ．短语诠释

1．be similar to 与……相似

指点迷津

    be similar与to连用，表示“相似，类似”。

    The same to you. 也祝你如此。

    It’s the same with sb. 某人也是如此。

    the same as表示“与……相同”。

    He is good at English and can speak it fluently. It is the same with Mary. 他擅长英语并讲得很流利，玛丽也是如此。

2．happen to sb.／sth．“某人／某物发生了什么事，怎么了”，相当于occur to。

    [注意]

    happen，occur都不能用于被动语态。

    类似的不能用于被动语态的单词和短语有：

  take place，cost，break out，last，come out，come true，come about，come up等。

3．in time及时；迟早；终于

    I wish you would come in time．我希望你会及时地赶来。

  1.which引导非限制性定语从句

as与which

①as引起的非限制性定语从句位置很灵活，可位于句首、句尾或句中；which引起的非限制性定语从句不能位于句首。

②as一般只代表整句话的内容；which既可指代整句话，也可指代某个词或词组。

③as常译为“正如，正像”，具有方式意味；which暗含因果关系。

④as与which都在从句中作成分，即主语、宾语和表语。

2．until引导时间状语

   until既可用作连词，也可用作介词，引导时间状语，意为“直到……为止；直到……才”；在肯定句中，它与延续性动词连用；在否定句中，它与短暂性动词连用。

[注意]

①not until放在句首，句子用倒装语序。

②强调until引导的状语(如果是否定句)，应把not提前。

It wasn’t until 12 o’clock that he came back．他直到12点才回家。

Ⅳ，疑难解读

1．I found it really easy to do because her family is very similar to mine．我发现那很容易做，因为她的家庭与我的很相似。

find it easy to ... 中的it指一件具体的事，后边的really easy是其补语。

[注意]

①it作形式宾语时，不能换成that。

②find用法归纳

其中现在分词作宾补含有主动意味，而过去分词作宾补则表示被动或完成。

2.We get on really well because we have so many interests in common．我们相处得很好，因为我们有很多共同爱好。

get on／along well(with sth．／sb.)意为“(与人)和睦相处；(事情)进展顺利”。

He gets along well with his classmates．他与同学相处得很好。

The project gets along well．这项工程进展顺利。
